Message: A wonderful site - so many beautiful dogs. May I give some heart felt thanks - Nana and aunty two golden oldies from the Hawkesbury pound have arrived safe and sound in Tasmania and with more thanks than I could possibly give to Toll Freightlines for flying them both completely free of charge on Virgin Blue, a big thanks also to Animal Transport in Sydney who worked with the pound on administering their tape worm tabs and getting them ready for flight. Nana is around 14 and Aunty around 12. They will blossom with good care and are now fitting in with my other family dogs and exploring the farm.

Message: Brilliant website! A massive thank you to those who put it together and keep it going! The hardest part for me to understand is how people can have a dog for years and years and then surrender it to a pound knowing that the majority are put down. Its horrific. By that stage how can they not be a part of the family? Imagine how confused and devestating it is for the dog. Anyway - SAY NO TO PET SHOPS & SAVE A LIFE AT THE POUND - Cheers - Morris

Message: I just wanted to tell you guys how wonderful I think you are and thank you for highlighting the plight of these poor dogs. As a rescued border collie & kelpie owner it absolutely breaks my heart to see any of the dogs on this site impounded because I know how sensitive, loyal and wonderful working dog breeds are, and how much they can truely be part of your family. To anyone considering adopting a pound dog - please do - you wont regret it, they will thank you will their love and companionship forever. How people can continue buying pups from pet shops whilst these dogs die I have no idea. Thanks again Sophies Choice and to everyone else - spread the word!

Message: After viewing your website whist trying to locate a rescue dog for a friend of mine I am so grateful there are animal lovers like you in the world. Thank you and please keep up the commitment to be a voice for our very precious dogs who find themselves without a loving, caring home and owners who adopt these doggies can expect unconditional love in return. I have two pound dogs who thank me every day.

Message: Thank you so much to Banjos Choices who helped us to find Rocky. He is a gorgeous boy, very loving, clever and well mannered and the wonderful people from VicDRG brought him to us all the way from Mildura to Melbourne.
BC's are special, but we love all dogs, and your site helps to make the world a better place for them, and for us lucky ones who find our best friends through you.

Message: Hi there Sophie, Gretchen, Banjo and Libby
Thank you for doing such a wonderful job in highlighting dogs in pounds in need of homes.
We have heard of a male dog 'Phantom' who was rescued from the pound by an organisation "Dabs"
He is a wonderful kelpie cross, currently in temporary foster care, but he really needs to find his forever home.
If it isnt too much trouble, we were hoping Gretchen could list him on this website to help find him his forever home.
Thank you so much
Lots of tail wags from

Message: What wonderful people you are!
I came across your site by accident and I'm astounded and very grateful that there are people out there trying so hard to find homes for all these gorgeous dogs.
Having been involved with dogs most of my life and being passionate about their welfare I often feel overwhelmed by the number of dogs who end up in pounds and shelters. Despite widespread education, regulation and publicity, nothing seems to change.
At some point in my life my dogs and I will give a loving home to one of these poor darlings.
Keep up the great work. I will bring your site to the attention of my "doggie" friends. If there is any assistance you require - just ask.
Regards
Robyn

Message: Hi,
The border collie dogs listed today, the 16th August, at the Canberra pound, are no longer available for adoption. I visited that pound yesterday (the 15th) and enquired as to their availability. All but the short-coated, long-tailed female either had deposits put on them the day they entered the pound (the 12th, I think), or were microchipped and were waiting collection from their owners who had been notified (but were interstate at the time).
Kind regards,Jules

Message: This is a wonderful website, congratulations! We recently lost our 17 year old Border Collie x Labrador and I have been looking at the BC's on your site. Unfortunately, you seem to have very few located in Melbourne/Victoria.

Message: Great Website guys. Libby your choice from the Rockingham Pound - Collie Rough was adopted by myself yesterday. He is gorgeous. I had him checked by the vet yesterday and his flea allergy and being so underweight is all fixable. He is going to be one spoilt boy! Forgot to get him microchipped but that is happening tomorrow. He has not been well cared for which is a pity. I am glad I got a Pound Dog. Cheers Veronica

Message: I love this website! And especially love your work! Currently I'm at an agricultural college in Victoria, and once I finish I hope to start a program for training border collies on sheep and dairy cows.
I enjoy looking at all the beautiful dogs, but it is disheartening how they came here in the beginning. Keep up the amazing work!
